Overview
Alive Church sought a powerful opening for their highly anticipated Easter celebration services. The challenge was to concept, produce, and direct a narrative short film that would leave attendees in awe of God’s miracles, prepare their hearts for worship, and inspire them to engage with the teaching and connect deeper as members of the church community.
Problem
How do you inspire thousands to deepen their relationship with God when they only attend church on Christmas and Easter? The challenge was to create a film that seamlessly combined visually stunning creative elements with heartfelt real-life testimonies, delivering both a “wow” factor and an authentic message to encourage a deeper connection with God.
Approach
Through collaborative brainstorming sessions, it became clear that the concept needed to center on a real-life miracle from within the church—one that would bring authenticity and emotional resonance to the story. We discovered the perfect testimony in Chelsea, a woman who had been deaf in one ear but experienced complete restoration of her hearing upon emerging from the water during her baptism.
With Chelsea’s permission, we creatively reimagined her journey, dramatizing her past traumas and miraculous healing through a powerful blend of choreographed dance, AI-generated 3D animation, and breathtaking narrative scenes set in a real-life garden transformed into a dreamlike landscape.
Conclusion
The result was a powerful outpouring of emotion, with crowds moved to tears of joy and inspired to worship our Lord Jesus. During that Easter service where the film debuted, Alive Church welcomed hundreds of first-time guests who have since become regular attendees and active members.
